Mookuthi Amman 2: Nayanthara begins fantasy sequel

Mookuthi Amman (2020) starring Nayanthara as the Hindu Goddess Parvathy is a fantasy comedy drama that was a direct OTT release on JioHotstar, formerly known as Disney Plus Hotstar. Mookuthi Amman 2, a sequel to this film, also stars Nayanathara in the lead, and was first officially announced on July 12, 2024. 

Now, Mookuthi Amman 2 has begun shooting, and images of Nayanthara from the shooting spot was shared by producers, Vels Film International. While the first film was written and co-directed by RJ Balaji, Mookuthi Amman 2 is a directorial venture of Sundar C. 

Mookuthi Amman 2 has Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi for music, who has previously worked with director Sundar C on in Aranmanai 4 (2024), Kalakalappu 2 (2018), Aranmanai 2 (2016), and Aambala (2015). 

Mookuthi Amman 2 also stars Meena, Khusbu, alongside Nayanthara.  The movie is jointly produced by Vels Film International, Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan’s Rowdy Pictures, Khushbu-Sundar C’s Avni Cinemax, and Ivy Entertainment.
