ONE Fight Night 28 results: Prajanchai retains world title; Kongthoranee defeats Nong-O

Prajanchai, the two-sport ONE World Champion, successfully defended his ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event against Ellis Badr Barboza on Saturday, February 8.

In the co-main event, a battle of generations unfolded as the legendary Nong-O Hama faced off against rising star Kongthoranee Sor Sommai. The contest was a thrilling back-and-forth affair over three intense rounds. However, Kongthoranee’s relentless aggression ultimately proved decisive, earning him a hard-fought victory by split decision.

The PK Saenchai Muaythaigym superstar secured his win via TKO, delivering a devastating elbow in the fourth round that landed flush above Barboza’s eye. Realising he had inflicted significant damage, the 30-year-old World Champion watched as referee Olivier Coste called for a medical assessment. The ringside doctor examined Barboza and deemed him unfit to continue, resulting in Prajanchai’s victory by doctor stoppage at the 1:55 mark.

This triumph marked Prajanchai’s sixth consecutive victory under the ONE Championship banner. His dominant performance earned him a USD 100,000 bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
