HAR 263/5 vs MUM 315

KER 200/9 vs J&K 280

TN 159/6 vs VID 353

GUJ 260/4 vs SAU 216

N Basil took a brief medical break before having his off-stump blown away by Auqib, who completes his fifer as well at the stroke of day 2 Stumps. Kerala’s lower middle order has helped it cut down the deficit to 80 runs but only a wicket remains.

After Hingrajia’s contributions helped Gujarat take control on day 2, Jaymeet Patel has found support in Urvil Patel as they began to extend the lead against Saurashtra. The required 90 overs were completed. Stumps.

Saurashtra takes the new ball and skipper Unadkat is immediately whacked for three consecutive fours by Urvil Patel. Gujarat starting to build a lead. here.

Vidarbha ramping up the pressure on Tamil Nadu now. Harsh Dubey operating with two slips and a short leg for Sai Kishore.

He had earlier got Andre Siddarth caught at slip as he tried to charge down the wicket.

Sahil Lotra ends Nidheesh MD’s stay on 30. Salman Nizar batting on 40.

Shams Mulani with the breakthrough that Mumbai was desperate for. Ankit Kumar is caught at first slip and his essay ends on 136.

At stumps on the second day, Haryana is just 52 runs away now from levelling the scores. Five wickets should be enough to get there but the wicket of Ankit Kumar opens up all sorts of possibilities in this contest.

Aditya Thakare claims his fourth wicket as he induces a faint outside edge from Vijay Shankar and gets him caught behind. Pradosh Ranjan Paul walks in now.

Ankit Kumar (135*) continues to build his innings and take Haryana closer to a first-innings lead. The side is just 61 behind now. Rohit Sharma has scored 20 off 30 and been a good support so far.

Dharmendrasinh Jadeja sends Hingarajia back on 83 but Gujarat has drawn level courtesy of this partnership. With six wickets in hand, Gujarat has the chance to build on take a massive lead. Especially, with a set batter, Jaymeet Patel (74*), at crease.

Fifty for Andre Siddarth. He heaves Nachiket Bhute over long off for a maximum to get his half-century. Tamil Nadu starting to breathe again 77-run partnership.

Yudhvir takes another scalp for J&K. Sarwate adds only a run in the 11 balls he faces. Kerala is now down seven wickets.

Another timely wicket for Mumbai. Nishant Sindhu premeditated this cut shot against Tanush Kotian, but there’s not enough room. He ends up chopping this onto his stump. Just when Haryana seems to be pulling clear, Mumbai finds a way to claw back.

Just as things started looking a little positive for Kerala, Azharudden was trapped leg before by Yugvir Singh. Took the review but went in vain.

Though the set pair of Akshay Chandran and Jalaj Saxena were dismissed in quick succession, Salman Nizar and Mohammed Azharudeen ensuring Kerala continues to prolong its innings.

A fifty partnership between Vijay Shankar and Andre Siddarth. The latter has scored proactively, batting on 32 off 39 balls while Shankar has held his end.

Ankit Kumar drives Mulani on the full and gets it past the mid off fielder. The boundary gets him to his century. He pulls the very next delivery through mid wicket for another FOUR.

Jaymeet and Hingrajia brought up their fifties and took their partnership to 88 runs in the session. The spin duo of Yuvrajsinh Dodiya and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja has not been able to get a breakthrough for the home side. Gujarat well on course to secure a healthy first-innings lead.

Tamil Nadu 65/4 vs Vidarbha 353

Kerala 105/5 vs Jammu & Kashmir 280

Gujarat 167/3 vs Saurashtra 216

Another wicket for Mumbai! Shams Mulani with a wicket typical of a left-arm orthodox bowler. It’s looped up in the air and drifts towards the leg-stump line before pitching and turning square into the off stump. Himanshu Rana could have done very little on that.

Tanush Kotian traps Yashvardhan Dalal leg before. The batter clearly not happy with the decision and thought this was sliding down leg. Does not go for a review either. Ankit Kumar batting on 94 as he is joined by Himanshu Rana.

Sahil Lotra ends Akshay Chandran’s long vigil at the crease. He is caught at backward point on 29. He took 124 deliveries to get them. Half the Kerala side accounted for with still a massive 175 runs needed for parity.

Fourth wicket for Auqib. Jalaj Saxena’s knock is cut short while trying to go for a big shot. He gets a top edge that flies to the fidler at deep fine leg.

Haryana skipper Ankit into the 90s. Has built a steady partnership with Yashvardhan Dalal for the second wicket. Deficit down to less than 150 runs with nine wickets in hand.

Hingrajia brings up his fifty in 145 balls. Gujarat in a comfortable position against Saurashtra.

Nachiket strikes in the next over to remove Sudharsan. Edged to Yash at second slip who held on to it well. TN loses its fourth.

Thakare gets his third. Boopathi Kumar walks down the track to the seamer coming around the wicket. He fails to get in line, ends up poking at it away from the body and handing an edge to the keeper.

Jalaj Saxena completes his fifty! Four boundaries and three sixes on the way. A timely intervention after the top-order collapse that rocked Kerala’s innings in the last session. Akshay Chandran has been the polar opposite of his partner, getting to just 22 runs in 103 deliveries.

Jaymeet Patel (25*) picks up from where Siddharth Desai left. He has stitched up a 40-run stand with Jaymeet Patel as Gujarat has brought its deficit below 100 runs now.

Yash Thakur takes a blinder at backward point, diving to his left. Sudharsan slashes at this wide delivery from Thakare before Yash covers the angle and grabs it. There’s a lengthy check as well to see if he was in full control of that catch or not, but the umpire eventually raises his finger.

Sai Sudharsan and N. Jagadeesan operating in singles to chip away at the deficit. After eight overs, Vidarbha makes its first bowling change, getting in Nachiket Bhute in place of Yash Thakur.

Shams Mulani sticking to the stumps line and keeping a check on scoring. However, surprising to see Mumbai not bring on Tanush Kotian from the other end. The Haryana batters have not had much trouble in dealing with the pacers so far. Ankit Kumar batting on 71 off 107 while Yashvardhan Dalal is on 17 off 37.

Jalaj Saxena’s counter-attacking knock is helping Kerala after the loss of three early wickets. He smacked three sixes in his 34-ball 35, letting opener Chandran watch from the end.

Saurashtra captain Unadkat takes a review after hitting Hingrajia on the pads. Ball tracking shows it’s getting a bit of the leg stump but umpire’s call saves the batter.

Aditya Thakare strikes in his first over. Mohamed Ali sees his stumps rearranged. He plays for the angle but the ball pitches and holds its line, whizzing past the edge and crashing into the off stump. Sai Sudharsan is the new batter to accompany N. Jagadeesan.

A wicket right after break for Saurashtra. Chirag Jani yet again with the incursion as he gets Siddharth Desai to hole out to Sheldon Jackson. 18 runs off 92 deliveries for him.

Shardul Thakur with the breakthrough for Mumbai. Ball crashes into Dalal’s pads, bringing an end to the steady partnership with Ankit, who brings up his fifty on the very next delivery.

Ankit gets going immediately and is into the 40s. The partnership with Dalal crosses the 80-run mark. HAR trails MUM by 230 runs.

KER 41/3 vs J&K 280

GUJ 79/2 vs SAU 216

VID 353 vs TN

Mohammed takes the final wicket for TN. Traps Yash Thakur on the pads. A review goes in vain and Vidarbha is bundled out for 353. Lunch.

KER 41/3 vs J&K 280

GUJ 79/2 vs SAU 216

Harsh Dubey’s innings ends at 69 off 132 balls. He edges the ball to Sudharsan at first slip as Vijay Shankar strikes again for TN. Vidarbha down to the last wicket.

Hingrajia and Desai have steadied the ship for Gujarat after the two quick wickets earlier in the morning. The runs have come at a trickle, with the 31 in this stand being score in more than 20 overs, but that has been the need of the hour.

Ankit Kumar (39*) and Lakshya Dalal (31*) have not put a foot wrong in their 21-over stay in this session. A steady scoring rate to keep the board chipping. Only two overs of spin from Shams Mulani so far which saw some purchase, and looks likely that more overs will be bowled by the tweakers post Lunch.

Harsh Dubey proving his worth with the bat now. He picks on a delivery angling down leg from Sonu Yadav and helps it on its way to the fine leg fence. A fifty off 107 deliveries for him.

Kerala skipper Sachin Baby has a brief stay at the crease before his bail is removed by Auqib. Third wicket for the J&K pacer.

Sonu Yadav gets the BIG WICKET! Karun Nair walks back to the hut on 122. The partnership ends on 96. Nair is done by a sharp in-seamer which goes through his bat and pad.

The runs beginning to flow now for Haryana. Ankit Kumar picks two boundaries in Avasthi’s over, both through the on side, with a flick and pull. He moves to 22 while Lakshya is batting on 21.

Kerala in big trouble as it loses its second wicket in the same over. Shoun Roger falls for a duck after edging the ball to the keeper. Auqib strikes again.

J&K strikes first as Kerala loses its first wicket in the third over. Auqib forces Rohan Kunnummal to prod an outside-off delivery, which takes the edge. A good low catch at second slip.

Mohit Avasthi beginning to probe the batters. There was a huge appeal for leg before in the previous over against Lakshya Dalal. The ball though seemed to be going over the stumps. The opening pair has navigated 11 overs of play without giving their wickets.

Sarwate takes J&K’s final wicket. Auqib is castled after putting up a fight against the Kerala bowlers. J&K is bowled out for 280.

Chirag Jani provides the second breakthrough for Saurashtra. Priyank Panchal holes out to Arpit Vasavada on 25. Siddharth Desai and Manan Hingrajia at the crease now for Gujarat. Saurashtra still in with a shot at taking a first-innings lead.

Karun Nair and Harsh Dubey unperturbed in the first half-an-hour of play on the second day. The second new ball has moved but not really yielded anything for Tamil Nadu.

A watchful start from Ankit Kumar and Lakshya Dalal. They see out the first four overs from Shardul Thakur and Mohit Avasthi.

Auqib Nabi is proving to be a thorn in the flesh for Kerala. He has moved to 27 runs off just 24 deliveries. In Basil Thampi’s last over, he hit a six and a four off consecutive deliveries.

Nishant Sindhu takes a catch of his own bowling to send last man Royston Dias back. A neat little cameo from Mohit Avasthi worth 18 runs which included a maximum. It has been a mighty effort from the lower middle order to get Mumbai to this total. The last five wickets added 250 runs after the defending champs were reeling at 65/5.

Just the start Saurashtra would have hoped for. Aarya Desai nicks to keeper Harvik Desai off captain Jaydev Unadkat. Siddharth Desai in the middle now joining Priyank Panchal.

Karun Nair was resuming at 100* and he picks a single on the first delivery of the over. How far Vidarbha gets from here hinges mostly on Nair. He has Harsh Dubey for company who can pull his weight with the willow.

Tanush Kotian’s stay ends three short of hundred. Sumit Kumar has his third wicket as he castles Kotian. The second Mumbai batter gone in the 90s.

Avasthi gets off the mark after 12 balls. Takes a single off Sumit to hand Kotian the strike, who immediately finds the gap and the ropes. Four short of a hundred now.

Haryana’s pacers may have pushed Mumbai on the backfoot on Saturday but Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian led the defending champion’s lower-order resistance once again in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals at the Eden Gardens.

Mumbai’s Mohit Avasthi and Tanush Kotian continue on Day 2. Sumit Kumar to start the proceedings with the ball for Haryana.

Kotian scores a boundary and takes a single to reach the 90s.

J&K 228/8 vs Kerala

Mumbai 278/8 vs Haryana

Saurashtra 216 vs Gujarat 21/0

Vidarbha 264/6 vs Tamil Nadu

The Ranji Trophy 2024-25 quarterfinal fixtures head into the second day after an eventful first three sessions.
