Sachein actress Genelia Deshmukh reacts to Vijay film’s re-release

Actress Genelia Deshmukh was still teenage Genelia D’souza when she starred alongside Vijay in the Tamil movie Sachein (2005). An official remake of the Telugu rom-com Neetho (2002), Sachein was up against Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi, and Kamal Haasan’s Mumbai Express at the 2005 Tamil New Year box-office.

Despite the same, the Vijay, Genelia starrer managed to make four times its budget in its lifetime collections, and Sachein came to be enjoyed as a cult hit with the Tamil cine audience. Sachein marks 20 years of its release on April 14, 2025 and a few days ago, film’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu of V Creations had announced a re-release of this film in theaters, in 4K this time.

Genelia took to X to react to the same, and on Monday she wrote, “Sachein – Has my heart always 💚.

Sachein revolves around the titular character who is a carefree soul. He falls for the stubborn Shalini, who is also his collegemate. Will Sachein‘s unwavering faith in their chance of love melt Shalini’s icy heart, or does pride stand in the way is what forms the rest of the story. Sachein‘s Hindi dubbed version Ghamandee is currently streaming for free on the Jio Hotstar OTT platform.
