AUS vs ENG: Australia completes highest successful chase in a 50-over ICC event
Australia completed the highest successful chase in any 50-over ICC event during its Champions Trophy 2025 match against England at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
Riding on Josh Inglis’ century, Australia chased down England’s 352-run target with 15 balls to spare. England, which posted 351 for eight after being asked to bat, had registered the highest total in Champions Trophy history earlier on Saturday.
Australia’s successful chase on Saturday surpassed the previous best chase in the tournament’s history – 322 by Sri Lanka against India at The Oval in 2017.
This was also Australia’s second highest successful chase ever in ODI cricket, after 359 against India in 2013, and its best against England.
Australia’s chase is the second best chase in Pakistan, behind the host’s 355-run chase against South Africa, which took place earlier this month in Karachi during the Tri-Nation series.
