IND vs BAN: Jaker Ali, Towhid Hridoy record highest sixth-wicket partnership for Bangladesh in ODIs
Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy on Thursday recorded the highest sixth-wicket partnership for Bangladesh in a One-Day International during their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against India in Dubai.
The pair got together with their side reeling at 35/5 and added 154 runs. The association ended when Jaker, on 68, holed out to Virat Kohli at mid on, trying to take on Mohammed Shami.
The previous best by a Bangladeshi pair for the sixth was 150 runs by Jaker and Mahmudullah, against West Indies in Basseterre in December 2024.
Though Jaker was dismissed before his century, Hridoy got to the three-figure mark. He became only the second Bangladesh batter after Shakib Al Hasan to score a century at number five.
The duo’s effort got the side to a respectable 228 runs in 49.4 overs.
