Virat Kohli became the first Indian batter to score 4,000 runs in international cricket against England during the third ODI between the two sides in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Kohli is the sixth batter overall to surpass the 4,000-run mark against England in all internationals.

The Indian batter achieved the feat in his 87th match, across all formats, against the Englishmen. He has scored eight centuries and 24 fifties against England, with an average of 41.18. Kohli was eventually dismissed for 52 off 55 balls by leg-spinner Adil Rashid in third ODI.

Australian legend Don Bradman tops the list with 5,028 runs against England from just 37 Test matches.

Among current players, Steve Smith has accumulated the most runs against England, with the Australian batter amassing 4,815 international runs against the side.
