Love Insurance Kompany: Vignesh Shivan Lands the First Punch!

Love Insurance Kompany: Vignesh Shivan Lands the First Punch!

Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) is writer, director Vignesh Shivan’s comeback movie after 3 years, and the Tamil film had its first glimpse release titled ‘LIK first punch’. A super futuristic rom-com, LIK‘s first video unveils 2040 Chennai where Mission Impossible 14 is headlined by KGF star Yash, theaters are running Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 189. Rajiv Gandhi government medical hospital looks super posh, while the city in itself looks like a mix of an overseas location, and the alien planets ‘Xandar’ and ‘Sakaar’ from the Avengers movies.

A robo named ‘Suriyan’s bro 9000’ (voiceover by Anirudh Ravichander), is flocked by human journalists over the mockery of lead actor Pradeep Ranganathan’s belief in true love. SJ Suryah who runs ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ is the evil mastermind Suriyan, who seems to be some sort of anti-romance figure.

Actress Krithi Shetty plays ‘Dheema’ in this story, whereas ‘lik’ is a software assistant like the artificially intelligent operating system seen in Spike Jonze’s Hollywood movie Her (2013). Vignesh Shivan tops all of this with a callback to Anirudh’s 10 year old song, Enakenna Yaarum Illaye, which was supposed to be part of a Tamil movie titled Aakko starring Anirudh Ravichander that never materialized.

Also starring Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri Kishan, Shah Rah, Malavika, Mayilsamy, among others, Love Insurance Kompany is jointly produced by Rowdy Pictures, Seven Screen Studio. The movie releases in theaters on October 17, 2025.
