[Last Updated: September 1, 2025] Following the biographical hit Amaran (2024) last year, Tamil star actor Sivakarthikeyan is next gearing up for the release of Madharaasi—a psychological action thriller that releases in theaters on September 5, 2025. Madharaasi is written and directed by AR Murugadoss, marking the filmmaker’s Tamil comeback five years since Darbar (2020).
Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth who made her Tamil debut with the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Ace (2025) this year, is the female lead of Madharassi, making the film her second Tamil outing. Madharaasi has Anirudh Ravichander for music, marking the composer’s ninth time collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, after Don (2022), Doctor (2021), Velaikkaran (2017), Remo (2016), Kaaki Sattai (2015), Maan Karate (2014), and Ethir Neechal (2013).
