The much-awaited Tamil film Thug Life, directed by legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan, has finalized its audio rights with SaReGaMa South, one of India’s oldest and most respected music labels. SaReGaMa, known for its vast music library and multi-language content, continues to maintain a strong presence in the Indian music scene.

Thug Life brings back the iconic duo Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after nearly four decades since their cult classic Nayakan (1987). The film also stars Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, and others, with music composed by A. R. Rahman—adding major buzz to the soundtrack.


The film’s digital rights have been snapped up for a record-breaking ₹149.7 crore by a major streaming platform, Netflix, highlighting the high commercial expectations. Additionally, the overseas theatrical rights have been sold for ₹63 crore, signaling strong pre-release demand.


Thug Life is set to hit theatres worldwide on June 5, 2025.
