Love Detox is a Santhosh Narayanan composed song from the Tamil film Retro, which is a number special for multiple reasons. Actor Suriya, lead actor and producer of Retro movie has sung a total of 5 songs in his almost 30 year career, one of which is Love Detox.
The song has a special dance appearance from actress Shriya Saran, who for some reason never got to share screen space with Suriya in her prime. Love Detox marks the first time Shriya Saran and Suriya shared screen space with each other.
As Retro entered week 2 of its theatrical run on May 8, a lyric video for Love Detox was released, giving glimpses of Suriya as Paarivel “Paari” Kannan / Jada Muni, Shriya Saran as Blue Thorn, actor Vidhu as villain Michael Mirasu, head of the deadly ‘Rubber Cult’, among others.
Written, directed, and co-produced by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro is a multi-genre action with Pooja Hegde playing female lead. After collecting Rs. 104 Cr+ in week 1, Retro is currently running successfully in theaters.
