F1 Australia GP 2025: Kimi Antonelli’s five-second penalty revised, gets promoted to P4

Italian teenager Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who made his F1 debut on Sunday for Mercedes was handed a five-second time penalty after finishing fifth at Albert Park.

However, his penalty was revised by the stewards “due to significant and relevant new elements being presented to them which were not present at the time of the incident” and Williams’ Alex Albon was handed a penalty which propelled the teenager to fourth in the standing behind his teammate George Russell.

The Silver Arrows are currently second in the constructors’ championship after bagging 27 points in the season opener. It is behind defending champion Mclaren, which scored 28 points through race winner Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who finished ninth.
