And that will be it. Messi and Suarez score one goal each to confirm Inter Miami into the quarterfinals. Miami will now face LA FC in the quarters. 

GOAL!!! Messi scores in the final moments of the game! Messi runs in from the center, gets the ball from the left and flicks the ball past keeper to find the right corner. 

Two additional minutes in the final half. Messi feeds the ball on the left now, Miami wins a corner. Short corner taken, Cremaschi and co. threaten to create an opportunity but the defence does well to keep the ball away. 

Messi feeds the ball towards the right corner; Cavalier blocks the attempted lob into the box. 

The ball is mostly in the Cavalier’s half. Miami keeping the pressure on the host. 

Miami builds up and lurks around the box. Cavalier making sure ball doesn’t enter inside the box. Messi cuts in, has to head a chip towards him but keeper positions himself early to grab the ball. 

Cavalier enters the box from the right. Keeper cuts the angle; Miami lucky a failed to attempt to clear the ball by the defender doesn’t cost. Ball is cleared away eventually. 

Cavalier has done well in this half to take the energy out of the Miami players. Falcon is keeping the ball away from his keeper, blocking anything that’s coming towards him. 

Another opportunity for Cavalier, from the left. A good save by the keeper as he cuts down the angle. 

Sudden burst of energy in the field as Miami threatens with a long ball on the counter with Messi given a wide open space. However, the keeper does well to once again clear it away running in. Cavalier gets the ball and gets in the box from the left before the defence clears it. 

Miami threatens again, lurking around the box. Cavalier defence does well to keep the ball away. 

Messi with another dribble from the middle but the defender does well to block the ball at the edge of the box. 

Corner for Cavalier. Flat shot, kicked away into the wide space. Miami gets an opportunity to counter but keeper does well to run in and clear the ball away. 

Miami holding the possession. Cavalier looking desperate for an opportunity. Messi finds a chip towards him but isn’t in the best position to take it. 

Alba cuts the ball towards the edge of the box, Messi in the center runs in but gets blocked by the center back. 

Cavalier has been pressing well this half. Isn’t allowing much room to Miami. However, still isn’t able to get the final flourish, losing out on opportunities in the final third. 

Miami continues to keep the possession. Cavalier now gets the ball into the box from the right but the defender clears it away. 

Messi in action straightaway as he cuts into the box and chips the ball over the post. 

Messi is subbed and he will replace Suarez. Double substitution for Miami as Busquets too gets subbed off. 

It looks like Messi is ready to get subbed in as he puts on his jersey and takes off the bib. 

Miami on the press; loses the ball just at the edge of the box. Cavalier with the counter, Miami keeper had to run in and clear the ball away. Cremaschi gets in Cavalier box from the right, hesitates to take shot with a close in angle, cuts away, shoots but the keeper saves it. 

Slight urgency shown by Cavalier early into the half. They keep the possession but isn’t able to hold on to it in the final third. 

Miami begins. Cavalier steals the possession but gives it away in an attempt to reach the box. 

Messi still on bench but he’s doing some warmups which means we might see him in action at some point. 

After the first half, Inter Miami has taken a 1-0 lead which gives it a three-goal advantage against Cavalier. Suarez converted the penalty in the 37th minute. Miami has so far controlled the possession as well. 

Extra three minutes added in the first half. A free kick for Miami in the final third. Alba lobs it into the penalty box and the defender heads it away for a corner. 

Cavalier looking for an opportunity from the right. Half time whistle! 

Corner for Miami. Outswinger from Segovia is pushed away into the open. 

Cavalier tries to create an opportunity from the left but too many pink shirts makes it difficult to keep the possession. 

Another attack from the left for Miami and another corner! Segovia curls it in, keeper pushes the ball away, Suarez attempts a bicycle kick at the edge of the box but doesn’t get enough power to create a threat. 

Miami continues to control the possession. Cavalier would need to do something magical here to keep things interesting. 

A long ball from the right into the box. Allende is brought down and there’s an instant whistle for the penalty!! Suarez will take the kick. GOAL!! A powerful shot towards the right pole and the ball deflects into the back of the net. 

Miami once again builds into the box, Suarez is denied an opportunity to shoot and the ball is cleared away. 

An opportunity for Cavalier inside the box but the Miami keeper does well to cleanly pick the ball in the air. 

Miami inside the box, Cremaschi gets an opportunity to volley but is blocked. He wins a corner. Alba with an outswinger, Suarez tries to go from the edge of the box but wins a corner instead. Cavalier clears the ball away this time. 

Plenty of attack coming from the left for Miami; Segovia being the center of it. Cremaschi is keeping up with him as well. 

Cremaschi cuts into the box from penalty but the keeper does well to cut the angle. Corner for Miami though. Segovia swings it in and it will be another corner for Miami. Ball is cleared away. 

Now Jordi Alba is down at the center of the pitch. He’s holding his ankle and the game is stopped again. A brief stoppage and he’s back on his feet. 

A free kick for Miami in the final third of the pitch. Suarez hits it straight into the wall. However, Miami keeps the possession. 

Cavalier hasn’t been able to keep the possession lately. Another chance inside the box for Miami but the ball is a bit far to head for Segovia. 

Ruiz pulls up and is getting medical attention. After a brief delay, he is getting subbed off. Cremaschi replaces him. 

Corner for Miami. Terrific ball into the penalty box, a header, the keeper isn’t able to grab the ball cleanly but somehow the Cavalier defence manages to clear the ball. 

Miami slowly to getting better control over the ball. SUAREZ! Attack from the left, Suarez cuts forward to head the ball inside the box and just misses it. 

ALMOST! Suarez gets the ball at the edge of the box, heads the ball back to set up a volley for Allende, who hits it on the right of the net. 

Corner for Cavalier. Swung in from the left foot but Miami’s defence heads the ball away. 

Jordi Alba remains busy in the left flank. Cavalier in the box! Ball close to the penalty box but goes over the two forwards. 

First attack from Miami from the left. Ball from the left corner straight into the hands of the keeper. 

Cavalier to kick things off. Miami keeping the early possession. 

Teams are lining up. We are just minutes away from the kick off. 

Messi missed Inter’s 4-1 win at the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer on March 2 and then the 2-0 midweek home win over Cavalier in the first leg of the last-16. The Argentine then sat unused on the bench for Sunday’s 1-0 win over Charlotte in MLS. 

Inter Miami has a 2-0 aggregate over Cavalier starting the second leg. It is an away game for Miami with Messi on bench.
