Ronaldinho, Rivaldo in Chennai: Brazil’s 2002 World Cup stars set to play India legends in exhibition match on March 30

Legends of Brazil such as Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Cafu are set to play an exhibition match against Indian legends at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on March 30th.

The Brazilian Legends team will also have players such as Gilberto Silva, Edmilson, Kleberson, Ricardo Oliveira, Cacapa, Camanducaia, Elivelton, Paulo Sergio, Heurelho Gomes, Diego Gil, Jorginho, Amaral, Lucio, Alex Ferro, Junior, Giovanni, Viola and Marcelo and will be coached by Dunga.

The India-All Stars team will feature names such as Mehtab Hossain, Alvito D’Cunha, Syed Rahim Nabi, Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Shanmugam Venkatesh, Arnab Mondal and Mahesh Gawli.

Rivaldo, a World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002, said, ”I am coming to share an unforgettable experience. On March 30th, I’ll be there to create truly special moments with all of you. It’s going to be an incredible experience. A big hug and I can’t wait to see you soon.”

“This is a monumental moment for Indian football. Bringing the legendary 2002 Brazil World Cup-winning team to Chennai to face our India All-Stars is a dream come true,” said David Anand, founder of Football Plus Academy and the driving force behind organising this exhibition match.
