SA vs NZ, Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal: Rachin Ravindra scores hundred against South Africa

New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra brought up his fifth ODI hundred during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal against South Africa at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

Rachin got to his hundred with a double against Kagiso Rabada in the 32nd over of the match.

It was the 25-year-old’s second hundred in the ongoing Champions Trophy and fifth in ICC 50-over tournaments. He was already New Zealand’s leading century-maker in ICC ODIs.

Only eight players – India’s Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Shikhar Dhawan; Australia’s David Warner and Ricky Ponting; Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara – have scored more hundreds in ICC ODI tournaments.

Since his ODI debut in 2023, Rachin has tallied over 1000 runs in the format in just 31 matches, at an average of close to 42.

The 25-year-old missed the first Champions Trophy encounter against Pakistan after suffering a freak injury during the ODI series against the same opponent ahead of the tournament.
