WPL 2025: Best performing players from each team in Women’s Premier League third edition

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season came to a close with Mumbai Indians beating Delhi Capitals in the final to claim its second WPL title.

There were several outstanding individual performances during the course of the tournament, including the overseas veterans and young Indian talents.

Sportstar looks at some of the best performing players of the WPL 2025 season:

Nat Sciver-Brunt was the most valuable player for Mumbai and a consistent force for the side. From anchoring the innings to playing aggressively, she has been a key player this season, scoring 523 runs in 10 innings and even picking 12 wickets.

MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led by example, scoring over 300 runs at a strike rate of 154. With 2025 being her best WPL season with the bat, she was also a confident sight on the field and rallied her troops to lift the title for the second time in three years.

Jess Jonassen has been Delhi Capitals’ highlight performer this season. Her promotion to No. 3 helped her find great form with the bat, scoring over 150 runs, including two half-centuries. Jonassen has also contributed by picking up 13 wickets.

Niki Prasad was an emerging talent for DC this season. The 19-year-old, who often walked in at high-pressure situations at No.8, kept her cool and scored over 78 runs. During the final, her hard-fought knock of 25 almost took DC past the finish line.

Gujarat Giants skipper Ashleigh Gardner made an all-round effort to help lead her side to their first-ever Playoffs spot. She had her best-ever WPL with the bat, scoring 243 runs. With the ball, Gardner scalped eight wickets.

Kashvee Gautam made her season-long injury hiatus count and made a brilliant comeback for Gujarat Giants. The 21-year-old scalped 11 wickets in nine matches with one of the best economy rates among the top 10 bowlers this season.

Ellyse Perry was the star performer for RCB this season, once again. She showcased her power-hitting skills, scoring 372 runs — her second consecutive season with 300+ runs — with a whopping average of 93.

After joining RCB just as the season started, Sneh Rana needed no time to make an impact with the ball, taking six wickets in five innings. She also displayed her bat-wielding capabilities, smashing a six-ball 26 during a league stage match against UPW.

In her debut season, Chinelle Henry has been instrumental for UPW, contributing with both bat and ball. Coming at number six, the West Indies all-rounder was the side’s top run-scorer with 163 runs in seven innings and picked up six wickets.

Kranti Goud had a good first outing with the UP Warriorz. The young bowler picked six scalps in eight matches. Her best figures of four for 25 came against DC, which included the big wickets of skipper Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma, and Jemimah Rodrigues.
