Croatia will host France in a UEFA Nations League quarterfinal first leg clash at the Stadion Poljud in Split on Friday.

The biggest news coming out of this clash is the return of Kylian Mbappe, who is set to skipper France.

Coach Didier Deschamps announced the squad, confirming that Mbappé will serve as captain for the game in Split. “I spoke to him and discussed it with him,” Deschamps stated. “He will be captain.

Croatia is expected to have some of its veterans, and leading the charge will be 39-year-old captain Luka Modric, along with the likes of Ivan Perisic.

Croatia is also expected to have a strong presence of Manchester City duo Mateo Kovacic in midfield and Josko Gvardiol in defence.
