Sunil Chhetri had a memorable return from international retirement as he scored against Maldives in an international friendly, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Wednesday.

It was his 95th strike as he remains one of the highest active goalscorers in international football. Sportstar looks at the top 10 players with most goals in men’s football:

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list with 135 goals in 217 appearances, while his long-term adversary and Argentina skipper Lionel Messi follows behind him with 115 goals.

Chhetri, who had retired last year initally after the World Cup qualifier against Kuwait, is fourth on the list.
