IPL 2025: Full list of Virat Kohli’s opening partners in Indian Premier League history

Virat Kohli is set to have a new opening partner at Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

RCB opens its campaign against defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, and Kohli is expected to walk out with explosive English batter Phil Salt, who set the tournament alight last year for KKR.

Salt will be Kohli’s 17th opening partner in the IPL, after former RCB skipper Faf du Plessis. So far, Kohli and du Plessis have formed RCB’s most successful opening pair, scoring 1890 runs in 37 matches at a formidable average of 51.08.
