IPL 2025: Virat Kohli breaches 13,000-run mark in T20s; becomes first Indian to reach milestone
Virat Kohli became the first Indian batter to breach the 13,000-run mark in T20s during the IPL 2025 encounter between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians on Monday.
The former India captain became the fifth player overall to reach the landmark, behind Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard.
The 36-year-old has an average nearing 42 in the format and has scored his runs at a strike rate of 134. He has nine T20 hundred to his name and 98 half centuries to boot.
Ahead of the encounter against MI, Virat also held the record for the most runs in the Indian Premier League, scoring 8111 runs in 256 matches in the competition, at an average of 38.81 and a strike rate of 132.01.
