KKR vs RCB, IPL 2025: Salt, Kohli help Royal Challengers Bengaluru record its second-highest PowerPlay score

Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered its second-highest score in PowerPlay during its IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.

RCB ended the first six overs at 80 runs, bettering the total of 79 against Sunrisers Hyderabad last season. It’s best in this phase is 92 which came in IPL 2024 against Gujarat Titans.

Chasing 175 runs, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli attack from the outset to give their side firing. Salt managed 49 off 23 deliveries during the field restrictions while Kohli scored 29 from 13 deliveries.

Vaibhav Arora was at the receiving end of the RCB duo’s wrath, with the KKR pacer conceding 32 runs in his two overs inside the PowerPlay.

Even the usually economical Varun Chakaravarthy gave away 21 runs, including three fours and a six.
