NZ vs PAK: Hasan Nawaz scores fastest T20I century for Pakistan

Hasan Nawaz scored the fastest T20I century for Pakistan during the third match against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.

Chasing 205, the opener brought up his maiden ton in 44 balls, smashing 10 fours and seven sixes, guiding Pakistan to a nine-wicket win over the Kiwis.

The 23-year-old surpassed the previous record held by Babar Azam, who scored a 49-ball hundred against South Africa in 2021.

The openers, Nawaz and Mohammad Haris, got off to a strong start and the pair stitched Pakistan’s highest-ever PowerPlay score of 75 for one.

After Haris fell, Nawaz and Salman Agha built a 133-run partnership for the second wicket to help Pakistan open its account in the five-match series.
