UEFA Nations League quarterfinal: Who is the referee in Denmark vs Portugal QF first leg?

Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, will look to take a step forward for another international silverware when it faces Denmark in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Thursday.

The Danes finished second in their group, with eight points from six games while the Portuguese were group-toppers from Group 1.

Denmark’s head coach Brian Riemer warned that the visitors have multiple stars and the battle for the final four will indeed be a steep challenge.

“They have an incredible amount of talent. It doesn’t matter which 11 players they choose to start with. We need to try and minimise the massive individual quality that Portugal has,” Reimer said.

Roberto Martinez, Portugal’s head coach, on the other hand, has said that his boys will not be complacent in the tie.

“We have to be at a good level, but this is only the first half of the tie. The Nations League is becoming one of the toughest competitions… You see the level of the teams, and now we are facing the best in Europe,” he said.

Irfan Peljto from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the on-field referee for the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal first leg between Denmark and Portugal.

The 40-year-old primarily officiates in the Bosnian Premier League and Saudi Pro League, and is the first referee from the country in the UEFA Champions League.
