Defending champion Spain is set to play Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal first leg on Thursday at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam.
Both sides will meet each other for the first time in this tournament and teen sensation Lamine Yamal will be a threat for the Dutch defenders in this fixture.
The 17-year-old was an integral part of the Euro 2024-winning Spain squad. Apart from scoring that curling effort against France in the semifinals, Yamal also contributed with four assists.
Yamal is set to face the Netherlands with the senior Spain side and hence, hasn’t got the chance to score or assist against the nation.
However, he has faced the Dutch during his U-17 Spain days. And during the U-17 Algarve tournament in 2023, he netted two goals in a 3-0 win for the Spanish.
