Corbin Bosch, banned by PCB for PSL withdrawal, debuts for MI against LSG
Mumbai Indians handed a maiden Indian Premier League cap to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch ahead of its IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
Bosch replaced the injured Mitchell Santner in the playing XI, having recently been added to Mumbai’s squad as an injury replacement for compatriot Lizaad Williams.
Bosch’s debut comes shortly after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) imposed a one-year ban on him from the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The ban was issued after Bosch withdrew from the PSL 2025 season despite being selected by Peshawar Zalmi as a Diamond pick in the draft.
Following the ban, Bosch issued a public apology through the PCB, stating: “I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the PSL, and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community.”
A right-arm fast bowler and right-handed middle-order batter, Bosch has played 86 T20 matches, taking 59 wickets with a highest score of 81.
He was part of South Africa’s victorious U-19 World Cup team in 2014, earning Player of the Final honours with a match-winning spell of 4 for 15.
A regular across domestic formats, Bosch made his senior debut for South Africa in 2024.
He also played a key role in MI Cape Town’s title-winning SA20 2025 campaign, picking up 11 wickets.
