The finals of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025, the biggest BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) tournament in the country, will take place in Kolkata between April 25 and 27 and will have a prize pool of INR 3.2 crore.
The pool has a 60 per cent rise from the previous edition, from INR 2 crore last year, with the additional amount raised through the BGIS crate, KRAFTON, the developer of BGMI, announced on Thursday.
“The 60 per cent prize pool boost, including INR 1.2 crore allocated to the top 32 teams, is our way of giving back to the competitive community and encouraging more players to push their limits,” Karan Pathak, Associate Director – Esports, KRAFTON India, said.
BGIS 2025 started on February 3rd, with teams participating in two phases – the main event and the grind. All 64 teams from the grind were included in the main event, which began on February 15, with 1024 teams in Round 1.
Teams played six matches in each round, with the total pool narrowed down to just 64 over four rounds until the quarterfinals, followed by the wild card round.
For the finals, the 64 teams played six matches over two rounds of three matches each, with the top 16 making the cut to the finale, set to take place at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata.
