IPL 2025: Is CSK Out of Playoff Race After Loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad?
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) slumped to its seventh defeat of the Indian Premier League 2025, losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.
CSK now sits at the bottom of the points table with just four points from nine games. However, the team is still not out of the Playoff race. It must win its remaining five matches and rely on other results going its way.
The MS Dhoni-led side can reach a maximum of 14 points and will need a strong Net Run Rate to stay in contention.
Since the league expanded to 10 teams, only Royal Challengers Bengaluru (in 2024) has qualified for the Playoffs with 14 points.
