National Open Relay Carnival: Gurindervir, Animesh, Manikanta, Amlan set new National Record in 4x100m

Gurindervir Singh, Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidar and Amlan Borgohain of Reliance set a new national record of 38.69 seconds in the men’s 4x100m relay at the 2nd National Open Relay Carnival in Chandigarh. The previous record of 38.89 was set in 2010.

Wednesday’s record would have placed them on the 2022 Asian Games podium. The 4x100m record was incidentally the oldest standing Indian national record in men’s track competitions.
