RCB vs PBKS highlights, IPL 2025: Nehal, bowlers shine as Punjab Kings beats Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Dayal. Stoinis finishes off with a six over long on! Punjab Kings wins the game quite easily in the end by five wickets.

Bhuvneshwar is back. OUT! Shashank chips the ball high in the air and is caught at long on. Scores just one off four balls.

Marcus Stoinis in at seven. Off the mark with a single. SIX! Nehal shuffles across a bit and picks the ball over fine leg. Terrific knock by Nehal. Another four! Punched through the covers by Nehal.

Suyash. Too full and Wadhera launches it over long off for a huge six! Four byes! Beats Wadhera and the keeper. Wadhera now drives the ball hard through the covers for four! Beats Wadhera twice but no luck for Suyash. 15 from the over.

Hazlewood for his third over. A single after playing the first two balls dot by Shashank. Wadhera comes down the track, Hazlewood bowls a bouncer to beat him. Hazlewood finishes off his spell for the day.

Suyash. An LBW appeal against Wadhera but umpire turns it down. No review. Pitching outside leg. Suyash is all over Wadhera, unable to read the googly. Wadhera tries to reverse sweep, is beaten. Jitesh appeals for a stump and when Wadhera falls after losing balance, he appeals again! Four! Reverse sweep and Wadhera connects it well to hit the ball past point. SIX!! In the slot and Wadhera slogs it over midwicket!! What a turn around in the over.

Hazlewood is back. Boundaries aren’t coming that easily but the asking rate is still within control for Punjab. OUT! Shreyas is gone. Back of the length, Shreyas went for a slash, gets an outside edge. A terrific catch by Jitesh who had to time his jump. Shreyas falls for seven off 10.

Nehal Wadhera at the crease. Off the mark with a single. OUT! Inglis falls too. Upper cuts and straight to deep third.

Suyash Sharma into the attack. Quick spin, beating the bat. Four singles off the over. 50-up for Punjab. 46 more to win in seven overs.

Krunal Pandya into the attack. Half-tracker and Inglis pulls towards square leg for four. Follows it up with another boundary, cracked towards covers region. Nine runs from the over.

Dayal continues. Punjab batters looking to rotate strike. A very good over so far. Just three runs in the first five balls. A dot to end the over.

Josh Hazlewood is here. Iyer takes a quick single off the first ball. Priyansh cuts in front of square and gets a double. SIX! Bouncer, Priyansh goes for the pull, gets a top edge over the keeper. OUT! Priyansh is gone. Another cross-batted shot gets a top edge and mid off takes the catch.

Josh Inglis at the crease. 10 runs from the over.

Bhuvneshwar. Prabhsimran hits high in the air towards square leg, the fielder isn’t quick enough to reach the ball. Four! Prabhsimran hits straight past the bowler for four. Another four! This time he lofts over covers. OUT! He once again tries to hit the ball straight, get a top edge and a good catch by Tim David at mid off. Had to run back a bit to grab.

Shreyas Iyer is here. 11 runs and a wicket in that over.

Yash Dayal from the other end. Eight balls into the chase, only four singles have come. Ball is stopping a bit, isn’t easy to play square. Seven runs in 10 balls into the chase, no boundaries yet. Four! Outside edge flies over the first slip! A boundary to end the over.

Prabhsimran Singh comes in as Impact sub for Yuzvendra Chahal. He’s opening with Priyansh Arya. Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the new ball.

Priyansh is off the mark with a quick single. Prabhsimran gets off the strike with another single towards leg side. Prabhsimran attempts a ramp but the ball hits him on the helmet. Terrific over, three singles came.

It was one-way traffic for almost three quarters of the innings. PBKS bowlers tore through the RCB batting order. Neat bowling where they hit the lines and lengths consistently. RCB was reeling at 42 for seven at one point. But Tim David produced a crucial half-century which certainly gives RCB enough to fight with here.

Brar to bowl the final over. The first is fired into the pads, David gets an inside edge on this on-sided slog, no run. The second is again flat, at the stumps, David goes for a big hit, miscues through midwicket, no run.

SIX! The fourth delivery lands wide, that’s just what David needs, whacks this over long off. SIX more! In the slot, angling down leg, David goes on his back foot and smokes this over midwicket. Make that three! Too wide again, David uses his long levers to slice this over deep covers. THAT’S A NO BALL TOO! FREE HIT COMING UP!

Two runs through midwicket, FIFTY for David. Off just 26 balls. RCB posts 95 in 14 overs

Bartlett now. David drives the first to long off, denies the single. FOUR! Too full from the bowler, allows David to hit across the line, David gets this through deep midwicket.

A slower ball outside off, David reaches for this and gets this to deep point for two runs.

FOUR more! Another poor delivery, a half tracker and David pulls this away. The fifth is full and wide, David tries to play this between long off and deep covers, does not quite get this off the middle, no run. A single to long on the final delivery.

Harpreet Brar for his first over. FOUR! After two straight dot ball, Bhuvneshwar breaks the shackles, lofts over covers.

GONE! Brar pitches this in the slot to Bhuvneshwar, gives him the chance to free his arms, Bhuvneshwar hits down the ground but off the toe end of the bat. Bartlett nearly overuns at long off and has to collect it with outstretched arms.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar c Bartlett b Brar 8(13)

TWO IN TWO!Yash Dayal cannot see this coming in straight into him, beats the inside edge and raps him on the front pad. As plumb as it would get.

Yash Dayal lbw b Brar 0(1)

Josh Hazlewood defends the last delivery, it’s outside off and turning into the left-handed batter.

Arshdeep to bowl out now. David on strike, FOUR, gets a back-of-a-length ball, uses the crease to pull this behind square. The second holds up off the surface, this leads to David mistiming his drive, falls just short of mid off.

FOUR more! The third is wide outside off, David slashes at this and gets it over short third man. Two runs through extra covers on the fourth ball, again gets width due to the angle, slaps this. A punch to long off on the fifth to gets a single.

Arshdeep bangs the final delivery short to Bhuvneshwar, the Nataraj shot from the batter, one run to fine leg.

Chahal for his final over. Tosses up the first delivery to Bhuvneshwar, glides it to long on for one. A leg break to David outside off, punches through point, one run. Another delivery on the off-stump line, Bhuvneshaw hits through the on side but Shreyas has put Wadhera at short midwicket to stop that. The fourth turns away sharply, Bhuvneshwar just about gets his bat in the way. A single to long on on the fifth. A single through covers on the final delivery.

Jansen for his third and final over. At the off stump to Bhandage, who defends this back to the bowler.

GIVEN! Bhandage is leg before. RCB goes for a review. This delivery too angles into the left-hander, Bhandage wants to run this down to fine leg but misses. The height might be an issue. But the ball tracker shows it’s just clipping the bails. RCB is seven down now.

Manoj Bhandage lbw b Jansen 1(4)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar in next. He gets width on the final delivery of the over, hits this through covers for one.

Chahal to Patidar, onto the pads on the first delivery, tucks it away to long on for one run. David on strike now, Chahal bowls this quicker through the air, on the pads, David plays it straight, no run.

The third is wider, David swats this to long off for one run. Chahal to Patidar now, WICKET! Chahal puts flight on this, it turns away from the right-hander, Patidar is looking to go over covers on this, slices to long off instead.

Rajat Patidar c Bartlett b Chahal 23(18)

Manoj Bhandage comes in as Impact Player for Livingstone. He gets a leg-break outside off, defends it. CHANCE! A leading edge as Bhandage tries to work this through the on side, just goes over Chahal’s stretched right hand. A single taken.

Jansen again. A bouncer on the helmet to Krunal, who miscues his pull. Jansen catches this and appeals for a wicket, PBKS goes up for a review. There were two sounds on that. A spike on the UltraEdge and RCB is five down now.

Krunal Pandya c & b Jansen 1(2)

Tim David in at No. 7. A half tracker first up for him, pulls this away through the vacant midwicket region for FOUR. He picks a single to mid off on the next delivery.

Jansen bowls into the body to Patidar from over the wicket, rolls his wrists on this to run it down to fine leg, one run. David slashes hard at the fifth, gets an under edge which the keeper stops, no run. A slower bouncer to end the over, goes over David’s head, the umpire does not give this as wide and RCB challenges the call. The ball tracker shows this is just within the limits, seven centimetres to be precise, not a wide.

Yuzvendra Chahal now. Patidar gets a googly turning into him first up, lofts it to deep midwicket for one. Outside off to Jitesh, blocks it. A bit more flight on the third, Jitesh opens the bat face, runs this through point for one.

Chahal to Patidar, this one is shorter, Patidar pulls this deep from his crease, does not middle it but this lands short of deep midwicket, one run.

WICKET! Jitesh slog sweeps into the hands of deep square leg. This is a regulation length ball on the off-stump, flatter trajectory, Jitesh should have done better on that.

Jitesh Sharma c Nehal Wadhera b Chahal 2(7)

Krunal Pandya gets the first delivery on his pads, clips it to deep midwicket for one.

Marco Jansen into the attack now. A bouncer to Patidar, slightly wide of off, Patidar runs this down to third man for one.

Jansen to Jitesh Sharma, a bouncer to him as well, Jitesh blocks it. Jitesh opens the bat face on the third delivery, runs this down to third man for a single.

Another single on the fourth ball, wide outside off, Patidar drills this to the left of mid off, Shreyas Iyer dives and cuts this. Jitesh is beaten on the fifth, again angling across the right hander, at a length, Jitesh misses his attempted nudge to third man.

Jitesh slashes hard at the final ball, misses again.

Bartlett again. Patidar on strike, the first delivery comes outside off, Patidar tries to flat-bat this through covers, the bat turns in his hands and he ends up hitting this into the surface, no run.

Full and on the pads on the second, clips it to deep midwicket for one run. Bartlett to Livingstone, full and on the off-stump line, driven straight but Bartlett gets a hand to it and gets another dot.

FOUR! Outside off again, Livingstone square drives this through point, could have been a better effort from the fielder but the ball goes past him. The fifth is back-of-a-length on the off stump, Livingstone taps this to point, no run.

WICKET! Livingstone perishes! He charges down the crease, Bartlett goes wider this time, forcing Livingstone to reach for this, slices this into the air, Priyansh Arya collects this after running back from covers.

Liam Livingstone c Priyansh b Bartlett 4(6)

Arshdeep to Kohli, nips it into the stumps, Kohli defends. Arshdeep goes short on the second, Kohli pulls but deep square leg cuts this off, one run. A length ball outside off to Patidar, punches to backward point for a single.

WICKET! Kohli falls! Arshdeep gets the big fish. Kohli comes down the wicket, wants to swat this over midwicket, the ball is angling away from him and bounces onto him, a leading edge and Marco Jansen runs back from mid on to complete a solid catch.

Virat Kohli c Jansen b Arshdeep 1 (3)

Liam Livingstone is the new batter. A yorker swinging in outside the off stump, beats him. The final delivery is a length ball, holds up a touch after pitching, driven to mid off.

Xavier Bartlett now. He bangs the first delivery into the surface at a good length, Patidar taps this through the on side, wants a run but is sent back. BEATEN! The second ball moves away from Patidar, he has a poke at it, misses.

The third is back-of-a-length, angles it into the body of Patidar, who plays this to midwicket, another dot. Two runs on the fourth, Bartlett goes fuller on this, outside off which allows Patidar to go for a hack, slices this over point.

SIX! Misses his line on this one, onto the pads and Patidar picks this up over midwicket, not out of the middle but still enough on that to clear the fence. Patidar gets another full delivery, he lofts this over mid on, this lands just a few metres inside the ropes but the wet outfields means it goes into the surface and stops, two runs only on a shot that was a boundary on any other day.

Arshdeep to Salt. FOUR! A hint of swing away from the off stump, driven through mid on. The second ball is shorter, at back-of-a-length, again shapes away, dot ball.

Arshdeep fires an inswinging yorker on the third, Salt blocks. GONE! Another back-of-a-length ball, Salt tries to pull and gets a leading edge, Josh Inglis calls for this early and runs all the way to short midwicket to collect this.

Phil Salt c Inglis b Arshdeep 4(4)

Rajat Patidar walks in at No. 3. FOUR! A full delivery, swings into the pads, Patidar gets his bat with the swing and drills this past the right of mid on. He gets on his toes on the final delivery, clips this through midwicket for one.
