Rudiger red card for throwing object at referee in Barcelona vs Real Madrid Copa del Rey final
Germany and Real Madrid centre-back Antonio Rudiger was shown a red card by referee Ricardo de Burgos for reportedly throwing an object from the dugout in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona in Seville on Saturday.
The incident happened in stoppage time of extra-time when Inigo Martinez went down, stalling Real Madrid’s build-up, and the referee blew for a free-kick.
The match then had Barcelona leading 3-2 at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, Spain, and the stoppage looked to have incensed the defender, who threw a red object at the referee, which was tied to his shin.
