If Napoli loses and Inter draws, both sides will end the season level on 79 points.
If Napoli and Inter Milan finish level on points, they will face each other in a one-off match to decide the Serie A champion.
Introduced in the 2022-23 season, the rule mandates a playoff if the top two teams are tied after 38 matches.
As in their regular league meetings, if the match ends in a draw after 90 minutes, it will go straight to penalties with no extra time.
The game must be played at a neutral venue.
