India squad for England Tour — India’s predicted XI; Gill named captain, Shami excluded
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India squad for the five-match Test series, set to be played in England from June 20 to August 4.
Under new captain Shubman Gill, India will now look to win its first series in England since 2007.
Two major names missing from the list are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their retirements earlier this month, vacating two key spots (Opening batter and No. 4) in the starting XI.
With the squad already announced, here is how India could line up for the opening Test:
