IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans becomes first team in tournament history to chase 200 or more runs without losing a wicket
Gujarat Titans registered a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday and became the first team to chase down 200 or more runs without losing a wicket in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Titans overhauled the 200-run target in 19 overs with openers, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, unbeaten on 108 and 93, respectively.
The previous record for the least number of wickets lost in a chase of 200 runs or more was held by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which hunted down a 201-run target for the loss of one wicket against Gujarat in Ahmedabad last year.
Pakistan is the only other team to have chased down 200 or more without losing a wicket in men’s T20s. It achieved the feat against England in Karachi in 2022.
The comprehensive win on Sunday helped Gujarat qualify for the Playoffs, along with Royal Challengers and Punjab Kings. The opening duo of Sudharsan and Gill notched up their seventh century partnership in the IPL, and are behind only Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers (10), and Kohli and Gayle (9).
