While Balbirnie, who scored a century, was later joined by Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker, who struck breezy cameos to power Ireland to 303/6 in 50 overs.

Ireland and West Indies will face off in the first of a three-match One-Day International series at Castle Avenue in Dublin on Wednesday.

The following two games in the series will be held on May 21 and May 23 at the same venue.

Ahead of the series, Ireland was dealt a blow as two of its key players—Curtis Campher and Craig Young—were ruled out due to injury. They were replaced by uncapped all-rounder Jordan Neill and batter Stephen Doheny in the 14-member squad, which will be led by Paul Stirling. Considering it had already named three uncapped players—Cade Carmichael, Tomas Mayes and Liam McCarthy—in its initial squad, Ireland will have to contend with an inexperienced lineup against West Indies, which is being captained by Shai Hope.
