Manchester United set to sign Senne Lammens from Antwerp — Reports
Manchester United has completed an agreement to sign Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens in a five-year deal worth €21 million plus add-ons, according to The New York Times.
The 23-year-old reportedly does not have a sell-on clause in his new United contract and will join the Premier League side this week.
The custodian progressed through the youth ranks at Club Brugge but made just two senior appearances for the Bruges-based side before moving to Antwerp.
Lammens made two appearances for the junior side before staking his claim to be the club’s No.1. He has also played through the national team’s youth teams, right from the U15s to the U21s.
United has also been linked with Aston Villa shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez, with reports suggesting the club was close to agreeing personal terms with the World Cup-winner’s camp.
But, the United chiefs seem to have chosen Lammens as a more long-term option to fight for the starting goalkeeper spot with Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana.
