Neeraj Chopra crosses 90m: What is the men’s javelin throw world record?

Neeraj Chopra broke the 90m barrier for the first time in his career, with a throw of 90.23 at the Doha Diamond League at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.

The 90.23m throw, which came during Neeraj’s third attempt during the Javelin final in Doha, is also now India’s National Record mark.

Later in the competition, Germany’s Julian Weber crossed the mark for the first time and threw a distance of 91.06m to secure first place.

However, both throws are well short of Jan Zelezny’s world record throw of 98.48m which he secured in 1996.
