PKL 2025 Highlights: Jaipur Pink Panthers beats Patna Pirates 39-36; Dabang Delhi thrashes Bengaluru Bulls 41-34

Nitin just whiles away his time on the final raid, standing near the halfway line, and at the last moment he charges at the Pirates players, gets an easy Bonus Point, and returns to his half to cap off a closely-contested win for Jaipur Pink Panthers!

One minute to go! And just three points separating them!

Nitin almost bags a six-pointer but his fingers are inches away from the midway line!

Ali gets a touch and pushes his man away but there are two more Patna shirts waiting to pin him to the mat. Another point for the Pirates and the match can go anywhere!

Ali is carrying the game towards victory for the Panthers! A healthy lead is cropping up for Narender Redhu’s side with less than four minutes to go.

Maninder is mightily pushed out of bounds! And the Panthers are slowly getting the grasp on the game again!

Ayan gets a point and what a comeback it’s been for the Pirates!

And Maninder takes his tally to 12! Two more points for the former Bengal Warriorz raider but hold on! A review has been taken. No Bonus Point for Maninder, just the two. Pirates’ reviews are over!

Nitin stars with 12 points while Maninder has notched up his Super 10 so far.

Ali gets that review in his favour and the Panters maintaining a steady six-point lead on the Pirates. A timeout taken now and about nine minutes to go.

Ali makes most of his Do-Or-Die Raid and gets a point for his side.

Maninder is denied his Super 10 on that raid attempt. Aryan gets a strong hold on the Pirates raider’s ankle and pulls him away.

Ayan nearing to his best! He goes around Nitin with ease and grace and gets a point! The gap has been brought down by a lot by the Pirates.

Nitin has been the star for the Panthers so far. The raider, who was touted as one of the players to watch out for by his own coach, has bagged 11 points so far.

Maninder sticking to getting that Bonus Point and playing it quite safe.

Maninder bags two points on the brink of the break as Jaipur Pink Panthers holds a slender lead on the Patna Pirates. However, Ayan and Maninder are slowly finding their groove on the mat. Do we have another tie-breaker on our hands?

Close! Ayan’s fingers are inches away from the midway line! If he had touched it, he may very well could have sent the whole of the Panthers team to the dugout.

Slender lead now for Jaipur. Maninder quietly gets the Bonus Point and returns to his half.

This was Ayan’s first point of the night! After 14 odd minutes, the star raider from last season is finding it hard to get going against the Panthers, coached by his former coach!

All Out! Jaipur inflicts the first All Out of the match as Patna Pirates seem to be in a spot of trouble.

Nitin Dhankar gets his ankles held but the grasp is loose. The raider wiggles out with his, drags the player attempting to hold him back a few paces across the mat, and crosses over.

Ali hops and beats his marker who was trying to trap the raider in an ankle-hold. One more point for the Panthers.

Maninder, this time, fails to get a point as he’s yanked away from his attempt of getting to his half.

Maninder gets his leg across the Bonus line and also gets a touch on a Jaipur player as he bags two points.

Ayan Lochab, one of the stars of the previous edition, is stopped from crossing the line.

Sudhakar with a great raid! He sneaks past and between a host of arms and legs as he bags two points!

Maninder Singh with the first raid of the match and he’s sent out of bounds! Jaipur starts on the right foot.

Jaipur Pink Panthers will be keen to taste victory against a Patna Pirates team that narrowly lost to UP Yoddhas on Monday. However, the eyes will be on Narender Redhu who guided the Pirates to the final last year, hours after which he was sacked.

The question begs: Can Redhu create the same magic with the Jaipur Pink Panthers? Let’s find out!

Jaipur Pink Panthers: Reza Mirbagheri, Ronak Singh, Nitin Kumar, Nitin Rawal (c), Vinay, Ali Choubtarash, Aashish Kumar

Patna Pirates: Sanket Sawant, Ankit (c), Sombir, Sudhakar M, Ayan, Deepak, Maninder Singh

An All Out inflicted on Dabang Delhi but that’s the final passage of play in the match. A dominant first win for Dabang Delhi as Bengaluru Bulls suffers its second loss in a row this season.

OOOH! Do we have a match in our hands? But less than a minute to go! Fazel thought he got a Super Tackle but he had stepped out of the bounds and he self-outs himself!

Another Super Tackle from Bulls, and again it’s Ashu who’s stopped!

Aashish Malik quite easily brushed away by the Dabang Delhi players. The gap seems to be too big to be restored with less than five minutes to go.

Great raid from Neeraj! He wriggles between two pairs of restraining arms and gets his hand across the midway line!

Akash Shinde holds Ashu’s ankle after the raider charged at the Bulls, hoping to catch them off guard. But Akash and his two teammates kept Ashu locked and that’s a Super Tackle for the Bulls!

An elegant reverse-kick touch from Ashu. Easy as you like it and his 15th point of the night.

Alireza, looks like, visibly miffed with himself and the night so far. Dabang Delhi with double the points on board than the Bulls. A strategic timeout follows.

Ashu seems to be having fun, as if he’s up playing at a playground. He comes into the opponent’s half, quickly swipes his leg to cross the Bonus line, and brings an easy point back to his half.

Alireza is too slow to get himself out of the sea of Dabang Delhi shirts as another All Out is inflicted on the Bengaluru Bulls.

Too easy for Ashu! No one there to stop him! If things go on like this, it’ll be a long night for the Bulls.

That’s all from the first 20 minutes of the match! Dabang Delhi with a significant 10-point lead with Ashu Malik scoring almost 50 per cent of the points for his side! Akash Shinde has disappointed so far, with Aashish Malik and Alireza Mirzaian providing important points for the trailing Bulls.

Ashu notches up his Super 10 on the night! Six raid points and four from Bonus!

A rare brain fade from Fazel! Alireza, it looks like, who gets a touch on Atrachali and the ‘Sultan’ is slow to get a hold of the raider. He is sent back to the dugout.

Fazel shows why he’s called the ‘Sultan’! He wrestles Akash’s shoulders away from the line and the other Delhi players pitch in to prevent the raider from getting the point.

A self-out from Aashish as the raider steps out to the lobby. Things not looking good for the Bulls!

Surjeet makes a late attempt to stop Aashish Malik but the Bengaluru raider is quick to get his hand across the line. One point for the Bulls.

Two points for Ashu! Bonus + 1! Ashu on fire so far!

A first strategic timeout in this match. Delhi is clearly the superior side so far. Akash Shinde will have to step up and rack some quick points to close the gap on the Delhi outfit before the half-time break.

Ashu sent to the dugout! Yogesh it looks like wraps his hands around the wily raider’s legs and gets help from his teammates to prevent the raider from crossing the midway point.

Akash once again dealt with. Fazel Atrachali on song in the Dabang Delhi colours!

All Out! Dabang Delhi inflicts it on the Bulls, and all that, within the first seven minutes!

What was that, Ashu!? A Super Raid from the Delhi skipper! He sends three Bulls players back to the bench with great athleticism, jumping over an opponent and speeding towards the midway line.

Akash Shinde’s ankle gets held and he’s pulled away from the midway line. A littany of Bulls players fall on him to get that tackle point!

Dabang Delhi: Ashu Malik (c), Surjeet Singh, Sandeep, Naveen, Neeraj Narwal, Saurabh Nandal, Fazel Atrachali

Bengaluru Bulls: Akash Shinde, Sanjay, Dheeraj, Aashish Malik, Alireza Mirzaian, Yogesh, Ankush Rathee (c)

Patna Pirates had parted ways with Narendher Redhu hours after the side lost last year’s final to Haryana Steelers. Now with a new side in Jaipur Pink Panthers, Redhu shed some light on the players who could be ones to watch out for, similar to the likes of Devank and Ayan who were a big part of Redhu’s Pirates team from last season.

“Nitin Dhankar is very good. On the left side, we have Ali Choubtarash from Iran who’s doing really well. There’s Uday and Vinay as well. As a raiding department, we have three or four people for left and right. We’ll keep rotating as per the match’s needs. The attempt will be to once again create a good partnership between two or three raiders through this season.”

We are at the fifth day of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League 2025 season, which is staying in Visakhapatnam for the time being. We have Dabang Delhi K. C. playing its first match of the 12th edition against Bengaluru Bulls first after which Jaipur Pink Panthers will open its campaign against Patna Pirates.
