Pogba back in Champions League – FIFA World Cup winner added to Monaco squad after return from doping ban

French midfielder Paul Pogba has been added to AS Monaco’s squad for the league phase of UEFA Champions League 2025-26.

Pogba is returning to competitive football in an attempt to revive his career following a doping ban.

The 32-year-old was handed a four-year ban in February 2024 after testing positive for DHEA, which boosts testosterone levels. The suspension was cut to 18 months after a successful appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Italian club Juventus announced in November that it had mutually agreed to terminate his contract, which was due to expire in June 2026.

In June, he joined Monaco on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal. He is yet to feature in a game for the club, which is currently fourth in the Ligue 1 standings with six points from three matches.
