ATP Rankings after U.S. Open 2025: Alcaraz replaces Sinner as World No. 1, Djokovic returns to Top 5
Carlos Alcaraz replaced Jannik Sinner as the World No. 1 in the latest ATP Rankings released on Monday after his U.S. Open triumph.
Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to clinch his second title at Flushing Meadows in New York and overall, sixth career Major. He reclaimed the top spot in the rankings for the first time since 2023.
Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Major winner, moved up three spots to fourth place after his run to the semifinals where he lost to Alcaraz.
Taylor Fritz, who lost to Djokovic in the quarterfinals, moved down a spot to fifth. Britain’s Jack Draper, last year’s semifinalist, slipped to seventh after he was forced to withdraw from the tournament ahead of his second-round clash due to an injury.
Lorenzo Musetti and Karen Khachanov swapped the last two spots in the Top 10.
Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, who reached the semifinals of a Major after four years, made a signficain gain of 14 spots to become World No. 13.
Elsewhere, in the Top 100, Czechia’s Jiri Lehecka (16th), Italy’s Luciano Darderi (30th), Spain’s Jaume Munar (37th), Frenchmen Corentin Moutet (39th) and Valentin Royer (90th), Brazil’s Joao Fonseca (42nd), Belgian Zizou Bergs (46th), Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak (62nd), Australia’s Adam Walton (75th) and USA’s Ethan Quinn (80th) achieved new career-high rankings.
