ICC names first-ever all-female officiating panel for Women’s World Cup 2025

ICC names first-ever all-female officiating panel for Women’s World Cup 2025

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced an all-female panel of match officials for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 on Thursday.

This marks the first time in history that a Women’s Cricket World Cup will be officiated entirely by women.

It will also be the fourth global tournament to feature an all-female panel of match officials, after the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the two most recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cups.

“This achievement is another milestone for the ICC’s broader strategic vision to accelerate the growth of women’s cricket,” ICC said in a release.

A total of 14 umpires and four match referees were chosen, which includes highly experienced umpires such as Claire Polosak, Jacqueline Williams, and Sue Redfern – all of whom are making their third Women’s Cricket World Cup appearance.
